About

  • I am an incoming PhD student in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, beginning Fall 2026. My research interests lie in ethics, political philosophy, and philosophy of law, with a particular focus on non-ideal theory and the boundaries of justice.

I recently completed my M.A. in Philosophy from Brandeis University. Prior to Brandeis, I earned my J.D. from Seoul National University School of Law, and during my subsequent three years of mandatory military service as a Judge Advocate in the Republic of Korea Army, I concurrently pursued doctoral coursework in the philosophy of law at Seoul National University. I also hold a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from the same institution, and remain a licensed attorney in South Korea.

My work is unified by a commitment to philosophical inquiry that remains responsive to real-world institutional and moral complexity—asking who is owed what, under which circumstances, and how abstract principles operate within the structures we actually inhabit.
